Magnesium... is the stress mineral


When you feel stressed, your nervous system responds by releasing a flood of stress hormones, including adrenaline and cortisol, which rouse the body for emergency action. Your heart pounds faster, muscles tighten, blood pressure rises, breath quickens, and your senses become sharper. This happens even faster when we don't have enough magnesium in our bodies. ⁠


Research has found that magnesium may help with brain functions that reduce stress and anxiety. It is believed to affect a part of the brain called the hypothalamus, which helps regulate the pituitary and adrenal glands.⁠
